This article is a single reference for VolFix Studies, volume/profile tools, and chart overlays. Use the table to jump directly to the required Study, then review the setup notes below.
Studies
POC lines configuration
POC (Point of Control) is the price level with the maximum traded volume for the selected time interval.
To display a POC level, activate MV Only (max volume only) together with Ray.
The Levels option allows you to display the first few highest-volume prices.
The POC ray label font can be configured in Setup -> Settings -> Miscellaneous -> H.Hist ray label font.
How to set up daily POC levels
Activate Timeframe 2, then open Setup -> Studies -> TF2 settings. Disable Show profile, Show summary, and Show TPO.
After that, activate Max volume, Max volume ray, and Max volume ray name, then specify the number of days to display.
Bar Complete
Bar Complete shows the degree of bar completion as a percentage.
This helps estimate how far the current bar has progressed relative to its configured completion logic.
Bar Size
Bar Size displays the size of each bar in pips.
It is useful when you need to compare how large recent price moves are across the currently loaded chart.
Big Trade Auto Size
Big Trade Auto Size displays large individual trades from Time & Sales directly on the chart as circles.
Circles are shown only for trades above the Min Volume threshold, and their size is automatically proportional to the trade volume. This helps highlight unusually large prints without manually scaling each marker.
COT High/Low
COT is the abbreviation for Commitment Of Traders. There are two COTs: COT High and COT Low.
COT High is cumulative bid/ask Delta starting from the moment when the price makes new high or repeats previous one. It's usually negative.
COT Low is cumulative bid/ask Delta starting from the moment when the price makes new low or repeats previous one. It's usually positive.
COT helps to see buy/sell balance after new price level has been reached.
Dynamic POC
Dynamic POC (Point of Control) tracks and displays the price level with the highest traded volume for the current trading day on the chart.
The indicator updates dynamically throughout the day as new volume data appears. This helps monitor how the key high-volume level changes in real time and how price reacts to that level during the session.
Grid
How to set up period separators (Grid)
Grid is used to highlight required time intervals or price ranges on the chart.
The whole configuration process is done through the control panel at the top of the Grid settings window. To disable the grid, set State to Off and click Edit.
Heatmap
Heatmap is a visual display of the depth of the market and its history. Each bid/ask value in the order book is mapped to a color, which makes the DOM easier to read as a heatmap.
Lower cut OFF% lets you ignore the smallest DOM volumes.
Upper cut OFF% makes the scaling and heatmap colors more stable so that short-term extraordinary sizes do not distort the whole display. Any volume above the critical value is shown with the same color intensity.
Horizontal histogram
Horizontal histogram can be configured in Setup -> Studies -> Vertical histogram.
You can place up to 10 horizontal histograms on one chart at the same time. To activate a histogram, select Type, choose the required Time Frame (TF), and turn State to ON.
Available horizontal histogram types include Volume, Delta, Trades, Ticks, Option OI, Hidden Ticks, and Classic (market profile).
The Self Area option lets you display a histogram on a separate axis when several horizontal histograms are used on the same chart.
Using histograms for different timeframes together with the MV Only function allows you to display only POC lines for the chosen periods.
TF2 Settings
TF2 Settings are used to display volume/delta profiles for selected time intervals directly from the chart control panel.
TF2 settings are available in Setup -> Studies -> TF2 settings.
Key parameters include Type (volume, delta, vol-delta), Price tick size, Time shift, profile Transparency, Max volume ray always, Show high-low lines of the profiles, and the Vertical histogram of selected interval.
TPO Cluster
TPO Cluster shows the value area where most volume was traded. By default, the indicator is focused on the zone that contains about 70% of traded volume.
TPO stands for Time Price Opportunity and helps visualise where the market spent the most time and activity within the selected area.
Unfinished Auction
Unfinished Auction highlights bars where the auction process may not be complete.
In a Sell/Buy (Bid/Ask) cluster, an auction is considered finished when one side stops participating at the extreme of the bar. If contracts are still traded on both the high or low of a closed bar, the auction is considered unfinished. This can indicate a higher probability of a future retest to complete the auction process.
Vertical histogram
Vertical histogram can be configured in Setup -> Studies -> Vertical histogram.
The first two options are bar histograms with Line = OFF. All other options are line histograms. You can configure any set of histograms by selecting the needed value from the Type list and turning State to ON.
The Visible scale option scales the histogram only according to the visible part of the chart.
Available vertical histogram types include Volume, Delta, Delta%, Trades, Maximum trade, Maximum tick, Ticks, Day cumulative delta, Chart cumulative delta, Average Volume of a cluster, Weis Wave, Cash, Open Interest Delta, Open interest, Reverse Init Volume, Bar Size, Relative Volume, and Second chart delta.
Volume Fixing
Volume Fixing helps define key levels by showing the total traded volume/delta reached at a selected price within a selected interval.
For example, on a 1-hour timeframe the indicator splits the chart into 1-hour intervals. If a certain price reaches the configured traded-volume threshold during that interval, the level is highlighted with the selected color.
The Max value only option highlights only the maximum value among the levels that exceed the configured threshold.
Volume Heatmap
Volume Heatmap displays volume profiles as a heatmap, where each volume value corresponds to a color from blue to red, from the smallest to the highest volumes.
The heatmap is shown for the visible part of the chart and helps identify zones of volume accumulation.
Upper cut OFF% makes the colors more stable by preventing single extraordinary profiles from dominating the scale. For example, with 90%, the top 10% of the highest volumes will use the same color intensity.
VWAP
VWAP measures the average price of an instrument using both trade price and volume over a selected period.
It is calculated by summing the traded value of all transactions and dividing it by the total traded volume. VolFix also supports VWAP deviations both in percentage terms and in pips, as well as anchored VWAP through the Custom day setting.
